With a focus on long-term compounding, Kuvera enables investors to make informed, prudent decisions with smarter tools across asset types
CRED has upgraded Kuvera, a trusted mutual fund platform for Indian investors, with a holistic approach to help them compound their wealth. Designed for affluent investors with meaningful portfolios, Kuvera by CRED enables them to make prudent choices by improving discipline, decision-making, asset allocation, and performance over the long term.
The average monthly SIP on Kuvera is 2x the industry average, and its investors hold the highest average portfolio value among digital platforms. As portfolio sizes grow, the impact of a single decision compounds in both directions. Yet, even as India’s mutual fund AUM has seen a 3-fold increase in 5 years, nearly 80% of mutual funds have underperformed their benchmarks in this period.
Kuvera transformed the mutual fund industry eight years ago by enabling investors to keep more of their returns, delivering compounding effects that drove larger participation in Indian public markets. The upgrade by CRED following its acquisition marks the next phase of industry evolution. It enables investors with not just the tools to invest, but to create outsized positive impact over the long term by improving decision-making capabilities around what, when, why, and how they invest.
Sharpen judgement, make better choices
By surfacing the behavioural drivers of long-term outcomes, the platform enables investors to evaluate the quality and results of their decisions. This framework prioritizes direction over speed, focusing on the three most important factors driving wealth creation:
- Discipline: shows investors their own behavioural patterns, including consistency, persistence, and time in the market, to cultivate positive investment habits.
- Allocation: uncovers concentration across asset classes, sectors, and individual securities, identifying overlaps and unintended risk exposure relative to investors’ risk profiles.
- Performance: measures returns against Kuvera’s custom benchmarks to assess whether outcomes are commensurate with risk taken.
The platform’s insights and analyses create space between impulse and action, enabling decisions to be made with composure.
Surplus: put idle capital to work
Wealthy investors often hold meaningful cash buffers that stay idle while waiting for the right opportunity. This creates a dilemma between watching capital stagnate or prematurely locking funds.
Kuvera by CRED resolves this with Surplus, a new feature that unlocks potentially better returns with low friction. Surplus invests capital into a set of liquid funds managed by leading SEBI-registered AMCs (DSP Asset Managers Pvt Ltd, ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company Limited, Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC Ltd, HDFC Asset Management Company Limited). Investors can withdraw at their convenience, with up to ₹4 lakh (or 90% of your invested amount, whichever is lower, as per SEBI norms) credited in under 5 minutes and the full amount in 24 hours (T+1 business days). Surplus is invite-only, with a minimum investment threshold of ₹1 lakh.
Kunal Shah, founder, CRED, said, “We have upgraded Kuvera for investors who have enough at stake that a single move can impact years of compounding. Kuvera by CRED is now a behavioural system that enables the wealthy to do less, but do it better. At that level, the biggest alpha is in judgement, not activity.”
Kuvera by CRED is available for download on iOS and Android.
